President Obama met with Pakistan's President Zardari in the Oval Office

On January 14th President Obama met with President Zardari of Pakistan in an 11:15 AM Oval office meeting. The official White House statement said that "The discussion focused on our shared efforts to fight terrorism and promote regional stability, specifically on the importance of cooperating toward a peaceful and stable outcome in Afghanistan. The President underscored the importance of the U.S.-Pakistan relationship and our continued support for Pakistan."

President Obama will be visiting Pakistan later this year.
