Not in a sense of fear mongering but in a sense of public awareness:
MSNBC has reported that there is credible but unconfirmed threat information and "U.S. counter-terror agencies are taking it very seriously," and "the federal government is coordinating with state and local agencies to make people aware of this potential threat."
President Obama has reportedly directed the counter-terrorism community to redouble its efforts in response to this credible but unconfirmed information.
