252 Occupy Wall Street protesters Arrested - whats the point?

New York City Police arrested 252 Occupy Wall Street protesters yesterday reportedly on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The protesters have started to call themselves "the 99 percenters" referencing the 99 percent of people who are not among the 1% of Americans who control 40% of the countries wealth.

The group slogan seems to be the "only solution is World Revolution" except most people seem not to understand the disorganised nature of the groups. the movement claims that it "empowers real people to create real change from the bottom up".

Other group claims are:
Yesterdays rally in New York City was comprised of over 30,000 people (NYPD estimated 32,500), including organized contingents of workers, students, and other members of “the 99%” which implies leadership though they claim to be a resistance movement.

They also claim actions in at least 30 cities across the country and around the world that are all related to the Occupy Wall Street movement - which also implies some form of leadership and organisational hierarchy.

They seem to be more of aggravation that just will not go away rather than a political movement.

What are your thoughts on the #OWS or Occupy Wall Street movement?
