Several charged in NATO Plot

Three people have been charged in a conspiracy plot to disrupt the NATO Summit with Molotov Cocktails against NATO representatives, President Obama's Chicago offices and Mayor Rahm Emanuel's home.

They people appeared in court yesterday accused of planning to attack targets.


Brian Church, 20, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jared Chase, 24, from Keene, New Hampshire, and Brent Vincent Betterly, 24, from Oakland Park, Florida were charged with conspiracy to commit terrorism, providing material support for terrorism and possession of an explosive or incendiary device.

Two others, Sebastian Senakiewicz and Mark Neiweem were both charged with terrorism offences, but police decline to say whether they are linked to the three others arrested.

In a statement released Sunday, the Cook County Attorney's offices said Mark Neiweem, 28 has been detained over allegations of possessing explosives or incendiary devices. Sebastian Senakiewicz, 24, has been charged with making a terrorist threat.
