The presidential elections in France went as expected by many around the world with the exception of the incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy.

Sarkozy will remain in power until the inauguration ceremony next Tuesday, on the 15th of May.

François Hollande, Frances new Socialist President Elect, will need to set to work swiftly to establish administration. He will almost immediately be in the thick of it as he will be off to Berlin right after his inauguration on the 15th. French President Elect Hollande will be on the way to the United States on the 18th of May for a two-day G8 summit at Camp David and then following it up by attending a NATO conference in Chicago on the 20th.

The world will see quickly if this new French president is capable of controlling his nations political needs and able to repair the ailing economy that was his key to winning the election on this past Sunday.
