Christopher Hecker of Waynesboro, Virginia has been charged with threatening to kill President Barack Obama.

Documents filed in Harrisonburg federal court said Christopher Hecker of Waynesboro made death threats against the president and threatened to bomb the White House, hotels and other places, including the site of the former World Trade Center.

Media outlets report an email sent April 19 to a Roanoke radio station threatened the president's life. The FBI traced the email back to Hecker's account. On April 25 a Secret Service agent began exchanging emails with Hecker, who allegedly continued to send out more written threats.

Last week the Secret Service made the determination that Hecker was logging in to his accounts at a Waynesboro Public Library. They exchanged emails with Hecker and waited outside to arrest him after he logged out from his latest session.

Hecker refused to be sworn in during his federal court appearance Friday in Charlottesville. He informed the judge that he did not require an attorney and wanted to be sentenced with the death penalty immediately.

After looking into this story a bit, it looks like Mr Hecker is attempting a very elaborate suicide.

A judge has ordered him to undergo a psychological evaluation.
