New revelations have been brought forward accusing France of running it's own PRISM like citizen watchdog program.
French President Francois Hollande expressed outrage over the United States PRISM program and allegations that French communications were intercepted by the US. His statement last week was “We cannot accept this kind of behavior between partners and allies.” President Hollande went on to say “We ask that this immediately must stop.”
French newspaper Le Monde is reporting that “The politicians know about it, but secrecy is the rule: this French Big Brother is clandestine,” in reference to the French Edition of PRISM.
The paper also goes on to say that the French spying program works in the same manner as the U. S. PRISM program and that the French authorities do not note the content of the communications but instead establishes links between known figures in a terrorist network.
