(Video) Weekly Address: Time for Congress to Raise the Minimum Wage for the American People

President Obama used this weeks internet address to attempt to increase the momentum across the country to push Congress to increase the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10. President Obama has already signed Executive Order 13658, raising the minimum wage for people working under new federal contracts to $10.10. Governors across the country are falling in line and working to raise their states’ minimum wages.

If you look at the bigger picture, the minimum wage increasing to $10.10 will cause small and large business to increase the rates at which merchandise and goods are sold. Gas will move well above $5 a gallon leaving the $3.50 per gallon mark far behind. Other commodity goods will increase inline with the pay rate increase causing a deeper slide into poverty for the average American working class family.
