Police have identified the suspects as a couple, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik. The couple dressed in dark colored tactical assault gear opened fire in a combined attack on the party goers, killing 14 and wounding 17 others. They then planted 3 explosive devices reged to a remote controlled toy car and then fled the scene in a black SUV apparently returning to the couples home.

Police acting on a tip from eyewitnesses at the Inland Regional Center eventually arrived at the home, approximately 2 miles away in Redlands with a search warrant. The black SUV seen leaving the scene at the Inland Regional Center was then spotted slowly leaving the home in Redlands. The police began to give chase and the speed of the chase quickly increased with Tashfeen Malik at the wheel and Farook firing at officers in pursuit.

21 officers returned fire on the SUV killing both occupants in the exchange.

A third suspect was seen leaving the scene of the original shooting at the Inland Regional Center and was later taken into custody, however police feel confident that the assault involved only the 2 active shooters.

Police have not yet released the names of those who were killed in the attack on the Inland Regional Center.
