The GOP have called upon Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) to deliver there response, which is slated directly follow the State of the Union. Ryan is the House Budget Committee Chairman and his selection is an attempt at sending a clear signal that the GOP is committed to the reduction of the deficit.
What it shows to many is something totally different. Ryan's response will be delivered from the Hearing Room of the Budget Committee.
In stark contrast, the Tea-Party folks have decided since they are in opposition of the standard Conservative Republican party they need to have the opportunity to respond to the Presidents State of the Union address as well.
Who did the Tea-Party select?
Why Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-Minn) of course.
Bachmann has confirmed with us that she will broadcast her response to Barack Obama's State Of The Union address.
But it is not exactly an official statement from the Tea Party Express - sorry Tea Party Express. Dick Armey created the Tea Party Express and it is supposed to be more closely aligned with the main body of the Republican party.
The move to have a separate rebuttal to the Presidents SOTU by there group shows there may be more division than before.
Are more fractures starting to develop in the Republican group?
There is no secret that the Republicans normally like position the person who delivers the rebuttal to the SOTU for a run at the Presidency, the TeaBaggers respondent has already stated that she might be interested in taking a run at the Presidency. This might indicate that Sarah Palin may have now lost full favor of the Tea Party establishment.
