Olbermann Over and Out

Many Republicans and TeaBaggers will be breathing a little sigh of relief as they read this - Keith Olbermann has finished his Nightly Countdown on MSNBC.

Last night ended his 8 year relationship with MSNBC. Olbermann was in mid-contract on a 4 year deal that was to last until mid 2012 worth $30 Million. He did not say why he was leaving MSNBC.

Starting Monday, Olbermann's spot will be filled by "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell"

Is Maddow next?

According to MSNBC's statement on Olbermann leaving “The Rachel Maddow Show” will continue to air live at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

How long will this last since the MSNBC statement included a direct reference to Maddow?

MSNBC is just days from a Comcast take over. Comcast has purchased the NBC parent company, NBC Universal and there is no secret the the top two dogs for Comcast, CEO Brian Roberts and Steve Burke, who will be running NBC Universal have donated to the Republicans in the past.

Does this mean that the Centrist and Democrat leaning programming on MSNBC may be about to abruptly end?

Stay tuned!
