The computer hacking groups Anonymous and and LulzSec say they have News Corp Emails and Passwords

The hacker groups Anonymous and LulzSec are reported to have taken aim at the News Corp entities the Sun and News of the World.

It is being said that Anonymous hacked into Sun / News of the World and obtained emails and passwords of News Corp employees including Rebekah Brooks and others that are speculated to be involved in the alleged ongoing phone hacking scandal.

LulzSec took control of the website for the Sun News and allegedly posted a false news post that Rupert Murdoch had died.

Obviously Rupert had not died as he was in Parliament today and assaulted by a man wielding an improvised pie.

The FBI raided several homes suspected to have members of Anonymous in residence earlier today. The raids took place in New York and California but resulted in no arrests. The FBI did seize computers and accessories.

The odd twist to this round of hacking?

It appears that it is in response to the alleged hacking of the young murder victim and the alleged phone hacking of victims from the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Is this a case of hack for hack?
