Health Care Act upheld by Supreme Court raising rally cry for Democrats and Republicans in upcoming election

On Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled that the Obama Administrations keystone legislation, the Affordable Health Care Act was Constitutional.

This is President Obama's most prized piece of legislation.

It is not a much needed reworking of our healthcare system but a referendum on the inter-workings of our nations health care insurance industry.

The health care insurance reform was also a Clinton era keystone.
The Clinton's were not able to breath life into the landmark legislation with the loss of power that other issues brought forward for the Clinton Administration.

Mitt Romney was able to pass legislation as Governor of Massachusetts. His legislation became the law of the state. Whether or not it is something that the Romney campaign wants to admit, the same law is at the heart of the Affordable Health Care Act.

The Democrats will use this as a key point to rally for the election cycle as they will not want to loose the now upheld law to a new administration.

The Republicans will use this as a rally point as they will want to repeal the law by removing the current administration that much more.

Is this news in itself?

No

What is news is that Chief Justice Roberts was on the Obama Administrations side as the dust settled from the Supreme Courts 5 to 4 decision.

“The Affordable Care Act’s requirement that certain individuals pay a financial penalty for not obtaining health insurance may reasonably be characterized as a tax,” Chief Justice Roberts wrote in explanation of the Supreme Courts decision.

Republicans and Democrats will be protesting for and against the decision for months to come.

Will this single decision overshadow the other issues on the table as we move forward into the election cycle and polarize the nation as they move into the voting booths in November?

Up until now, the majority of the Democratic voting force seemed almost as if they were indifferent to the impending elections. This may bring more voters into the game who would have otherwise remained on the sidelines.

It will be interesting to see how the polls shape up over the weekend and the 4th of July holiday.
